Redundancy

Your business communications platform is a mission critical business system that requires 99.999% uptime. This is why Deltapath invests into hardware redundancy technologies that allows you to cluster 2 units and perform IP address take over in the event of a system failure.

High Availability Architecture

Each appliance is built with redundancy in mind. It's state of the art hardware design has the following redundancy features built-in.

  • Embedded Linux platform on flash memory allowing the UC core to continue operations in the event of hard drives failure
  • Front accessible compact flash for backup and recovery
  • 2 hot swappable hard drives with RAID 1 mirroring
  • 2 hot swappable redundant power supplies
  • Temperature sensing ventilation fans to keep system temperature low
  • Overheat protection with automatic shutdown

Each frSIP clusters comprises 2 units of frSIP appliances. The cluster may be built locally sharing the same IP address or placed across 2 geographical locations and form a geographical cluster.

Local Cluster

  • Single IP address shared by 2 units.
  • Automatically failover to secondary when primary is unavailable, including power outages.
  • Absolutely transparent to users as no IP address changes.
  • Direct cable connection for stacking, keeping data on both units in sync.
  • Support automatic and manual fall back to primary when it restores service.

Fail-Over Scenario

Geographical Cluster

  • Dual IP address on 2 units.
  • IP phones will automatically fail over to secondary is primary is unavailable.
  • Allow units to be physically separated in 2 locations, suitable for customers with redundant data centers.
  • Certain applications such as soft clients may require manual change of IP address in order to failover to secondary.
