TongTong.com is a technology start up company which builds a multi-lingual online cultural exchange and travel web community for Chinese and Foreigners.  TongTong deploys frSIP® PBX in their 10 person office in Beijing.  TongTong staff can easily telecommute from Home and when overseas on business trips.  In particular, TongTong makes use of frSIP® Remote Dial-in module which enables staff to make VoIP calls from their mobile phones when they do not have Internet access.

“As a multi-cultural company with staff constantly on the run, it was crucial to have an open standard PBX that can link us all together.  In particular, we enjoyed the ability to link our frSIP® PBX with other SIP networks such as Gizmo and Free World Dialup, which other PBX can not offer,” said Guy Sivan, Director of Operations.

Most small companies can not justify IP-PBX because the toll savings they achieve is not sufficient to offset the system price.  However, for TongTong, it was not so much on cost savings but features that it needs as a small company.  “We can not afford to be staffed 24 hours in the office to answer phone calls. Hence, the ability to have an IVR and transfer incoming calls to our mobile phones and to perform operator functions from the mobile is very crucial to us.  It is the features that we demand more than the toll savings that an IP-PBX offer.  If we wanted something cheap, we would have gotten a USD$1000 keyline system from local vendors,” Sivian said.
