Happy Saturday! This week in Unified Communications was an exciting one, with articles covering awards, new partnerships, collaboration solutions and so much more. Now that it’s the weekend, let’s take a look back at these last few days.
The week started off with news that Mitel has received the 2016 TMC Labs Innovation Award for their MiTeam solution. MiTeam is a team and social collaboration tool that supports how teams work and interact in our mobile-first workplace. Mitel knows that collaborating in a mobile world can be difficult, especially when it comes to getting everyone on the same page. No matter where you are working from, you likely get inundated with emails, IMs, phone calls, etc., and are left wondering who to answer first. Mitel recognized this issue, and created MiTeam to help deal with the problem.
Speaking of the mobile workforce, shouldn’t working remotely be a little more efficient? Oftentimes, remote workers don’t have the same technologies available to them as office workers, which ultimately results in lowered employee productivity. Plantronics and RingCentral are partnering to solve this problem by providing workers, no matter their location, with integrated headsets that simplify business communications, powered by software, while ensuring superior call quality. The more flexible a worker can be, the more they’re going to get done for your company—that’s a fact.
Collaboration and productivity seem to be the overall theme this week, with Deltapath introducing its Deltapath Trio Connector. The new solution is a communication gateway for Polycom RealPresence Trio that has an embedded high-definition audio conference bridge, supports wireless content sharing along with mobile collaboration, and acts as a gateway to business telephone systems. Its purpose is to make the office into a space where everything—equipment, devices and more—is connected, ensuring seamless collaboration. This kind of connectivity will undoubtedly enhance worker experiences, thus increasing collaboration and productivity. You can find out all about the Deltapath Trio Connector HERE.
The week rounded out with news that Sonus will release its new Cloud Link software that integrates the SBC 1000 and 2000 with the Skype for Business Cloud Connector Edition, which itself comes as a set of virtual machines that link the Skype cloud-based private branch exchange (PBX) with a local public switched telephone network (PSTN). The purpose of Cloud Link is to speed up the configurations of its hardware with the settings available in Skype CCE.
While some exciting news has been highlighted here, that’s certainly not all that went on this week. Be sure to head to the Unified Communications homepage for all the updates, and come back next week for the latest insights. Have a great weekend!
